HYDRIDIS offers a range of sprinklers, nozzles, micro-jets, diffusers and trickle devices with special high performance in terms of uniform rainfall distribution and adaptability to the different planting areas of your parks.
We offer you a variety of solutions to save water and time. A whole range of friendly electronic programmers provide your garden with the appropriate quantities of spray water according to the season.
Programming is extremely simple and fast thanks to their well studied ergonomics.
In addition, rain probes or moisture sensors complement the programming device in order to give more autonomy to the system and allow you to enjoy higher comfort with full control over your budget.
Automatic sprinkler systems have become necessary and even essential facilities for maintaining beautiful gardens while caring for water resources as their scarcity and cost are dramatically increasing.Â
Some tips to help you keep your lawn and garden green, while making some savings:
Avoid over-watering your lawn and garden. Much of the water is not absorbed.
When water is brought too quickly, some is lost by runoff. Another part is lost by evaporation when the soil is compact and sun-exposed. But most of the wasted water comes from excessive and too frequent watering. Instead of directly watering during 20 minutes, split your watering time into four times 5 minutes with a 15-minute break after each watering. This will allow water to seep through, while minimizing runoff.
Try to water between 5 and 10 am, when the sun is low, the wind is weak, and temperatures are the coolest.
Under these conditions, the leaves may dry during the day, limiting the risk of disease and saving water due to low evaporation. Choose low-angle nozzles for windy areas. Avoid watering in the evening as leaves would remain wet overnight - an open door to disease. Watering in the middle of the day is the best solution for your plants but not for your purse because of the loss of water due to evaporation.
Divide your garden into different watering sections.
Your lawn can then be watered separately and more frequently than your ground cover, shrubs and trees. Sprinkler irrigation and micro irrigation are suitable for specific and effective water supply.
Adjust your mower for higher mowing.
Tall grass protects the roots from the sun and favours rooting.
Avoid watering the pavements and walkways
Remember that a properly adjusted sprinkler must distribute large drops of water rather than spray. Vaporization is more prone to evaporation and to changing direction according to the wind.
If you need to water individual trees, flowerbeds, potted plants or other non-lawn area, consider micro-irrigation which, thanks to the trickler, delivers water very close to the roots.
By watering the soil slowly, micro-irrigation is by far the most efficient system. Water from micro-irrigation has little chance of being wasted through evaporation or runoff and prevents weeds from growing.
Once a month, turn on your irrigation system, put your swimsuit on and make sure everything is working properly.
A damaged or blocked sprinkler or system can be devastating for your garden and likely to increase your water bill substantially. Purge your trickle system and filters likely to get blocked by small particles.
Mulch, a layer of organic material covering the soil surface around plants, conserves water by reducing evaporation of moisture.
Mulching also reduces weeds, prevents soil compactness and keeps soil temperatures moderate.
Adjust your irrigation system according to seasons and climate change.
Or, install a sensor that automatically detects rain. These probes are affordable and allow you to benefit from free natural rain.
